First day on Holyhead island we admired Holyhead island and fetched our kayaks

When we arrived at Holyhead island, it was evening and too late to kayak. We went on a car trip around the island an watched the different possible spots for the coming week of surfing. South stack was impressive, in fact looking a bit too impressive to all of us except the guide. And this was before the strong gale hit the island... In the wind that was, we never paddled south stack.

We also looked at other different spots, some of them being the spots we would revisit more than once. And we saw a lot of this nice looki island.

We went to SKUK to fetch the kayaks we had been promised by the guide. It turned out he had never booked them. And since others had made reservations, we could not get the kayaks we were promised. Also, there was no safety equipment like pumps and floating devices in the kayaks. In spite of these few of coming thousands of failures of the guide, we got some decent kayaks thanks to SKUK which provided a good service, and knowledgable people.

We spent the evening in the city. This was the first night, and we were accomodated a little spread. The guide had not booked the accomodations in time either (although the whole trip was prepaid many months in advance). In spite of the unordered accomodations, the town was nice, and so was the pubs. It turned out there was a lot of different places around to eat and drink. I was very impressed by the ferry going to Ireland, it looked ipressive when rushing into the harbor.
